60 Miles in June

Raising funds for Pancreatic Cancer research

So here we go. The real walking begins on 1st June although kind people are already contributing to my Just Giving Page for which I am very grateful.

The 60 Miles in June program is a national fund raising scheme organised by Pancreatic Cancer UK to help fund research into an appalling disease which, by the time it is diagnosed, is invariably fatal. So it was for my wife Margaret; and so here I am now.

Nutrition resolved the walk commenced. Just a gentle stroll through local fields. I am very lucky I can pretty much walk out of my house into the fields. Keeping the field hedge to my left I can walk from field to field for a couple of very pleasant miles bounded by The River Arrow and an old, long defunct , railway line.

An excellent start to my training and I am looking forward to my first “real” walk which will actually be on 31st May and will be really interesting. But more of that later.
