Walking Thoughts

Ozzy

As I begin to get into the routine of the Walk 60 Miles programme, my thoughts begin to wander. I think about previous walking events I have done for Pancreatic Cancer Uk but also for Prostate Cancer and The Shakespeare Hospice in Stratford on Avon.

But my mind wanders further, back to my now distant youth. My former schoolmates who read this may well correct me but I seem to remember lengthy walks for Oxfam; a local hospital and Shelter. I remember that one of those walks was overnight to Windsor I think. Also I recall school organised our own 15 milers over the The Ridgeway towards White Horse Hill and Wetlands Smithy.

So maybe, in some way walking maybe in my DNA perhaps. So maybe that is why I find myself today walking across this field near Alcester contributing towards my target of 60 miles and funds for Pancreatic Cancer.

Meanwhile if any of my old schoolmates from Emmbrook School (circa 1968-69) in Wokingham can remember any better than me please do feel free to comment below.
